Killa Kangorrillaz- A new Breed Of Heroes... Or Something.

Joules Al Kez Max Spen

September 2001; The band was born kicking and screaming like a mule in an abbatoir.

At that point it was only me (Joules) and Max. We wanted to form a cover band and perform some of the classic rock tunes such as Thin Lizzie, Maiden, Whitesnake… you know what I mean; classic rock stuff.

The band went through some changes before we even gigged. The original line-up was:

Joules on lead guitar,

Max on bass,

Kev  (who named the band, thanks, mate) as our drummer, and

Kez as lead vocalist.

This arrangement didn’t work, so we brought in Big Al as a dual lead guitarist with Joules, and Spen replaced Kev as our new drummer.

It took a while to get a decent set together and be happy about what we were doing, and so on the 28th sep 2002 we set sail at the All Labour In Vain, Horsehay. Three hours later we had raised £300.00 to send our friend Denny Martin’s daughter, Gemma to Euro Disney.

From that moment on, Killa Kangorrillaz was officially open for business and ready to take our place on the gigging circuit. We played regular gigs to our last in May 2005 at the Stormy Petrel at Ternhill. We then had a year off and went our separate ways. Max and Spen formed Hare Razor and it looked like the Killaz were never gonna ride again . . . but we knew there was unfinished business there and had a brilliant night at the Duke of York in Telford on the 29th April 2006 on our return gig.

So thanks go to all the people we met (and this place was rammed), Shane, the landlord and Jill who worked her pretty little butt off behind the bar along with the other staff. Give me your names and I'll post them up.

Because we now have a new line up (minus big Al cos he's in another band) and Joules has lost loads of weight, we'll be putting up new pics as soon as we can. The website will soon be www.killakangorrillaz.com, but don't go there cos We haven't even started that website yet. Give Joules a chance and soon all will be revealed.

Anyway, the Killaz are back, badder than ever and ready to blast the wax out of your ears!!!
